It seems that Upower Udisks and Udev will substitute Hal.
Will aptosid drop hal in favour of these in the near future?
Checking my system I see that udev and udisks are installed but not upower.

as you know, we track debian unstable.
hal is gone for xfce, but not for kde yet.
with kde 4.6 hal will be past for kde as well.
so, as soon as kde 4.6 hits unstable, hal is gone from aptosid

you can install upower if you want to try it, but I'd suggest waiting till its good to go though |
