is there some reason you guys did not enable the uvesafb kernel module in the slh aptosid kernel series??
I think of all the FB modules in the kernel it is by far the most useful!
I would think it is also the one that can be used across most hardware implementations because all graphics cards since say 2006 should implement vesa 3.0 modes.
Of course i could compile my own kernel the "aptosid-way" (thats what i did so far...) but that is really becoming a pain in the a*** giving the time for a complete compile cycle and the amount of kernel actualizations recently
so PLEASE consider activating uvesafb,
Thank You |

This question is still open and not answered yet. A recent kernel "3.12-2.slh.5-aptosid-amd64" leaks still a uvesafb modul.
Please add,
Thank you |

It's not going to be enabled, as it interferes with KMS operations, thereby affecting all contemporary graphics drivers (intel, nouveau, radeon, mga, modesetting). |
