Hello All,
yesterday a journey has finally ended for me: The use of aptosid as my day-to-day Linux distribution.
It started in 2007 with the use of Sidux. And believe it or not my system was still running on this very first installation, dist-upgraded diligently and carefully over the years. And becoming aptosid in the end.
You will ask: When a distribution was able to serve you for seven years, why do you abandon it?
Well, I will turn 50 years soon and I thought I will become more a simple user and rely on something that is maintained by other people and simply consume their service. And therefore I switched to Kubuntu 14.04 LTS. If it will fulfill this promise has still to be proven. But so far the change went smooth.
So take care good people from aptosid and all the best for the future!
Regards,
Sordon |

Hi Sordon,
turning 50 is not much of an argument...
I am 52 and enjoy aptosid, unfortunately as a user only.
All best wishes and I am sure you'll be back soon
