I did a new installation on a laptop yesterday. I installed aptosid-2011-01-geras-xfce-i386 and direct after install I did a d-u. If I remember right there where 5 things that apt wanted to remove and as I have been using aptosid since the release, did d-u:s and red the forum I know that this was ok.
But if you are new, install aptosid for the first time and apt want to remove things it's nearly impossible to track and filtrate the right information from the forum during 4 months in upgrade-warnings for example.
Most often it happens a lot in sid and with long time between releases this will be happening between most releases I believe.
Would it be possible to have a sticky notice of which apps are ok for apt to remove on d-u since last release? |
