Yes, I did today with a spare disk on a DELL Latitude 4300, just for the fun of it
No major problems. Just a few "apt-get -f install"s and regular "apt-get dist-upgrade"s interspersed.
And then, of course, a big cleanup via "deborpan", selection of sddm as display-manager, and a "apt-get install kde-standard".
In between I installed lxde as a fallback. |

KDE-lite i686 installing from a USB-Stick onto a real machine, not a virtual one.
Still, it would be much nicer to start from a more up to date ISO. It's been quite a detour to arrive at a working aptosid and the final installation probably does not contain much of the original software contained in the ISO. |

Thanks, heidieboe! I've just done a fresh install of the XFCE and installed kde-full. Plasma is not working, but I think it is because it is inside a VB virtual machine, since I had the same problem with siduction (Plasma crashed in a VM, but worked on a real computer). |
