Well, unless you're sitting in the photosphere of the sun (in which case we probably wouldn't have this conversation), this reading is beyond any doubt a bug and doesn't reflect the actual temperature of your graphics card 
The severity of this bug depends exclusively in the effects this has on the system:
- if the only apparent effect is just the reading itself, the best response is probably to ignore it for the time being.
- if this false reading pushes the fan sitting on your graphics card to throttle up to jet engine speed/ noise, it's more annoying (powersaving and heat management is still not perfected for all devices supported by nouveau)
- there are many shades between these two extremes, so further information might be required. |

thx@slh,
well, the system goes always down: power off
with all "nouveau"-stuff ...
with nvidia pc is running fine: BUT no display: all black
Problem is in other forum similar - but without a real solution:
the gpu graphic-on-board is to hot ...
xx with Windows-Vista all is running well ... omg.

He is always booting - and 4s after grub-bootup - with any aptosid/siduction : the system is power-off
..edit: mem-test-aptosid: is ok !
..edit: Power-Netzteil+Alternative-Power: is ok!
..edit: HDD is ok !
...edit: boot-grub: "nomodeset" engine is booting ! in text-modus - no-power-off ...but "init 5" is not working:no X
also:startx is not working
only aptosid-kernel 2.6 xxx is running ! but only text-modus
strange!

remove all nvidia*
edit grub: nomodeset

( not possible: Running new aptosid/siduction-CD/DVD with:
nouveau.modeset=0 xmodule=vesa ....Problem is: during bootup: power-off)
For the moment - i can work.
( but no energy-monitor-saver possible ) |
