hi

i've decided to give a try to latest aptosid, downloaded the kdefull version, cated on an usb 8G key and rebooted.

boot's alright but i get stuck on a grey black white snowy screen with nothing working not even a console. tried "secure settings with no luck.

processor is AMD A6-3400M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics

i suppose there is a workaround like ati radeonmodeset=0 but can you confirm that ??

thanks,

apogarte

radeon is a free and open source driver, however it does rely on uploading proprietary firmware (read AtomBIOS) to the graphics card - and regresses badly in their absence (at least for r6xx and upwards). Once you have installed the firmware, it ought to work properly and you can drop the modeset disabling.
