On a new computer (i.e.: HP Pavilion g7 Notebook PC/ Bios-Version F.42/ Intel Core i5-245OM/ CPU 2,50 GHz/ 6 GB Mem./ 640 GB H.D./ Intel HD Graphics 3000/ pre-installed with Windows 7) I installed aptosid-ponos-kde-lite-i386, after having deleted all Windows-stuff.
The installation from USB-stick to HD was successful and lasted 2:10 min. only, but after starting the computer from HD the screen goes black after:
waiting for /dev to be fully populated ...
Thanks in advance for any help.
Greetings,

remove "quiet" from the kernel cmdline and wait up to ~10 minutes, eventually it hits some timeout and manages to boot in the end, the logs (dmesg) will then reveal what's interfering. |

Thank you, slh, for your hints, but unfortunately they did not help. After a new install with kde-full-amd64(!!) it works.
