Hello and a happy year again Razz

I've learned form distrowatch thata there's a new distro in the great linux family, named siduction, that forked from aptosid.

So, since I'm a very ver very inexperienced/unexpert linux user, coul you please kindly explain the differences between Aptosid and Siduction?

And please, would oyu post a list of such differences/changes?

Whatever, thanks in aticipation :=)

I'm not sure what kind of answers you are expecting, and am especially curious why you are posting new questions when 4 days ago you were requesting your forum account deleted - so I guess you could say that I sense troll-like activities.

The technical differences between the two are to the best of my knowledge untold so far - mostly conceptual/behavioural differences separate them at this time. The people behind "siduction" have a strong difference of opinion about the way the people behind "aptosid" conduct themselves in developing and supporting a FOSS distribution, so they decided to copy everything to somewhere else and started moving on with whatever it is that they want to change.

I am not aware of all differences which caused the "siduction" people grief, but transparency of development seemed to pop up every now and then, a willingness for aptosid people to ignore the perceived user-pain caused by breakage of non-free software was another.

Just to add: As siduction is a fork of aptosid, we are most likely the wrong people to ask. After all, they must know what they have changed after forking, so please ask there.
Greetings,
Chris
